Register for the first annual EL CARDUNAL paddle celebrating the newly free flowing section of the Fox River, part of the Fabulous Fox! National Water Trail. Our inaugural year will be a 5.9 mile paddle on the longest free flowing stretch of the Fox River in Kane County. With a put-in at Algonquin, the majority of the paddle will have forest preserve and parks on one or both sides. There will be an interpretative stop with Kane County Forest Preserve along the way. Take-out in East Dundee, mingle with fellow paddlers, and receive your swag bag.
**Shuttle service required - there is no event parking in Algonquin. Drop your watercraft in Algonquin and drive to the take-out; transportation will be provided back to the put-in. Paddlers renting watercraft should also park at the takeout and take the shuttle to Algonquin. Choose your shuttle time as part of your registration.
**Please note the following:
1. Alcohol and boating is unsafe and alcohol will not be permitted on boats.
2. Sunscreen and waterproof shoes are strongly recommended.
3. IL law requires boaters under 13 to wear a personal floatation device (PFD), and at least one wearable U.S. Coast Guard approved personal flotation device must be available and accessible for each person on board 13 and up.
4. You will be required to sign an in-person waiver before launching your boat
5. No refunds on registration if event is canceled by officials due to lightning or if IDNR closes the river due to dangerous river conditions. You will still receive your swag bag and t-shirt. Refunds will be issued for boat rentals only if the event is canceled.
