Bee Sanctuary at Schweitzer Woods Restoration Area
We will meet at Schweitzer Environmental Center
16N900 Sleepy Hollow Rd. West Dundee, IL
Nature loves, Apidophiles (bee lovers) and concerned citizens are invited to get outside from 9-12, to take a walk through the Savanna Restoration area, which includes a Bee Sanctuary, accompanied by local naturalists and hobby Entomologists. Participants can snap pictures of native bees and bumble bees for BeeBlitz and then upload their photos to Schweitzer Environmental Center Insect Survey Project and to BeeSpotter, the citizen science project run in collaboration between University of Illinois at Urbana - Champaign's Department of Entomology and the office for Mathematics, Science, and Technology Education.
What do you need?
Dress accordingly with close-toed shoes, long pants, long sleeved shirt, hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, and plenty of water.
Bring your cell phone or downloadable camera.
